Summer Cruise 2011

The spiritual programme is a follow-on to the programme followed at Easter, using the theme of heroes once more. We will be studying various heroes of the Bible, trying to apply their stories to our own lives, and to study them in some greater depth than before.

The plan for the week follows 5 different themes, whilst using a figure from the Old Testament each day. The themes are ‘The Journey’, ‘Choices’, ‘Weakness’, ‘With Whom’ and ‘Rest’. Please pray for each day’s spiritual aims, and for everyone involved in preparing talks, Bible studies and discussion groups.

Please pray for:

Sunday 3rd July – safe journeys to Norfolk, and the final preparations.

Monday 4th July – the journey to Norfolk, and ‘The Journey’, first evening on the boats!

Tuesday 5th July – first full day of sailing, ‘Choices’ and the leadership training.

Wednesday 6th July – evening talks, ‘Weakness’ and good weather.

Thursday 7th July - the last full day together, ‘With Whom’ .

Friday 8th July – ‘Rest’ and a safe journey home.

Thank you for your prayers for us!

The Summer Cruise is inherently different to the Easter Cruise, in that we are staying on the boats all the time! We will be sleeping, eating, sailing, worshipping and learning on three boats.

We are splitting ourselves into crews, one of Anne Hamilton, Nick Smith and Will Trevitt, another of Philippa Wardale, Dave Sinclair, Jon Capper and Jake Moran, and another boat with Elspeth White, Frances Reading, Elissa Blankley, Jack Harding and George King. Each crew will stay together during the day, then we will all meet each evening for a small teaching, worship and discussion session.
